Windham MA Swimming Pool Companies
Once you’ve made the decision to install a gunite swimming pool or spa in your Windham MA home, you need to take the time to select the right Windham MA pool installation company. Creative Edge Pool & Spa, Inc. has the experienced skilled craftsmen who can bring your vision to life and create an outdoor environment that you will enjoy in your Windham MA home for many years.
There are many phases to building an inground gunite swimming pool in Windham MA.
Gunite Swimming Pool Pre-Construction Windham MA
Before construction is started we meet with each client and discuss a design, shape, and the location of the pool that best accents your Windham MA yard. A pre-site meeting is scheduled to spray out and set elevations, go over all details involved, and answer any questions you may have about the pool and/or the equipment prior to installation.
Gunite Pool Excavation Windham MA
Once pre-construction has been completed and the design meets the client’s approval we will start to form the inground pool and excavate material from the pool area. The dirt is removed with a dump truck and hauled to another location. At this time we will also begin to dig the trenches needed for the electrical, pool plumbing and equipment area.
Gunite Pool Steel Windham MA
After the excavation is finished we will start installing the steel. Steel is used to form and strengthen the gunite pool structure.
Gunite Swimming Pool Plumbing Windham MA
During this time we set the skimmers, return lines, main drains, and any other plumbing lines that are needed for the type of project we are building. We use PVC schedule 40 pipe to plumb our pools and spas. Pipe sizing will be determined so that an adequate amount of water will flow through.
Gunite Swimming Pools Windham MA
Gunite is a mixture of sand and cement. It is shot into the pool using long hoses and a nozzle. This is a big day! It is where the actual pool comes to life. The foundation is formed as well as the stairs and benches. After the gunite has been sprayed we have seven days were the pool needs to stay wet to slow the curing process down to prevent flaking of the shell. At this time we will also need to finalize decisions regarding tile, patio, and walls.
Backfilling Gunite Pools Windham MA
This will involve stripping of wooden forms from around the pool, backfilling the dirt against the shell and compacting for stability.
Gunite Pool Tile Windham MA
Next we install the pool tile, and possibly the coping depending on the decking type. At this time we will also extend the plumbing to the equipment location if needed, install bonding wire around pool and call for inspection prior to decking.
Gunite Pool Equipment
The equipment is set on concrete pads. Once they are placed the final plumbing and electrical connections are made.
The equipment we use includes a complete line of technologically advanced pumps, filters, heaters, heat pumps, automatic pool cleaners, lighting, controls, salt chlorine generators, and high-quality components engineered to work together to keep your pool at its best. The equipment we use is efficient, requires little maintenance and adds value to your investment. It is also energy efficient and offers a direct cost-savings to you.
During prep we prepare the pool shell for the finish material.
Gunite Pool Finish
The finish is applied to the floor and sides of the shell by a Creative Edge Pool & Spa professional who is dedicated to excellence. Traditional Plaster and RiverRok is just a couple of the finishes that we use.
Traditional Plaster is chosen by clients because of the way the smooth surface of the plaster feels on their feet. It is also the least expensive of the finishes. However, plaster is the least durable of pool finishes. It will require re-plastering every 8-12 years due to cracks developing, staining, becoming rough and scraping skin. It also requires extra care to keep the water balanced with chemicals.
RiverRok finishes consist of plaster with a very high ratio of aggregates. This makes the finish much more durable. RiverRok's smaller pebbles are less abrasive to the swimmer. It contains blends of selected natural aggregates and is fortified with polymer cement.
Water - Gunite Swimming Pool Water Windham MA
Once the finish is complete the water is trucked in by a local water company, with approximately 3 loads to fill the pool, depending on size.
Gunite Pool Startup Windham MA
When start up is initiated, all installed equipment will be turned on and put into service mode, so to circulate the water and chemicals. This process will usually take approximately 5-7 days to balance the water.
This is the final step. With each client we will educate them on how to operate and maintain the pool, and answer any questions they may have. If you still are having trouble understanding how to maintain the pool, we can also offer you a weekly maintenance program for the first few weeks until you are familiar with the system.
If any questions or concerns arise we are just a phone call away to help 978-203-0406.
